Robert Mudge

Thanks for sharing what you’ve earned with others, it’s people like you that help people like me reach and pursue goals that are life-changing.
— Robert Mudge

Robert Mudge, a beneficiary of the Be Perfect Foundation, experienced a life-altering event on August 19, 2001, due to a single-car accident. As a result, he sustained a C5/C6 spinal cord injury. Be Perfect has played a crucial role in Robert's journey toward regaining an independent and active lifestyle.

Through the generous financial assistance provided by Be Perfect, Robert has been able to receive therapy sessions at Next Step Orlando. This support has not only allowed him to pursue his goal of physical independence but has also helped him maintain the progress he has already made. Additionally, the assistance provided by Be Perfect has alleviated the spasticity he faces on a daily basis, bringing him a sense of inner peace.

Be Perfect has rekindled hope in Robert's life by reminding him that there are remarkable foundations like theirs, willing to offer help regardless of how much time has passed since his injury. This renewed hope has brought him encouragement and optimism as he continues his journey toward recovery.

Robert has set and achieved several remarkable goals for himself since he embarked on his rehabilitation journey in 2004. He has transitioned from using a power chair to a power-assist manual chair, gained the ability to stand with assistance, learned self-catheterization, and can walk with the aid of a specialized walker. In addition, he has obtained a Bachelor's degree, become self-employed, purchased a home, found his life partner, and embraced the joy of fatherhood. These accomplishments are a testament to his perseverance and determination.

Looking ahead, Robert has aspirations of further independence, such as improving his ability to transfer in and out of his chair and dressing his lower extremities. He acknowledges that these are significant goals and, in the meantime, focuses on making incremental physical gains in his weaker left side to work towards achieving them. Be Perfect's continued support in removing the financial barriers to receiving specialized physical training will be instrumental in helping him reach these objectives.

Robert extends his heartfelt gratitude to the donors of Be Perfect. Their selfless generosity has provided him and individuals like him with the opportunity to pursue life-changing goals. He acknowledges and appreciates the profound impact their contributions have had on his journey toward recovery. Robert sincerely thanks the donors for sharing what they have earned with others, as their support is instrumental in making dreams come true. to his resilience and the effectiveness of the support provided by Be Perfect.
