Silvia do Valle, who sustained a C4 spinal cord injury on July 18th, 2017, shares her heartfelt gratitude for the transformative support she has received from the Be Perfect Foundation. Silvia's injury left her an incomplete tetraplegic, with her neck fused from C3 to C6, resulting in stiffness, constant muscle spasms, and neuropathic pain in her neck, shoulders, arms, hands, and feet. She also faces challenges such as calf spasms, drop foot, urinary retention, incontinence, and various gastrointestinal issues. Furthermore, she endured fractures to ribs and vertebrae, a lung contusion, and continues to battle PTSD, panic attacks, depression, and anxiety due to her pain and limitations.
The Be Perfect Foundation has provided invaluable assistance to Silvia, including specialized spinal cord injury (SCI) physical therapy. She expresses her joy and gratitude for the recent award of SCI specialized PT, a vital step toward her recovery. In addition to this, Silvia received a mobility scooter that offers neck support, preventing further pain while sitting. The scooter enables her to enjoy the outdoors when walking becomes challenging, contributing to her independence and improved quality of life.
Be Perfect has rekindled hope in Silvia's life by providing the essential care and support she needs to regain her strength and well-being. It has also been instrumental in combating her depression, offering a lifeline of optimism and determination.
Silvia has set admirable goals for herself, including continuing to walk after a long and challenging journey. She aspires to ride a horse again and compete in para-equestrian shows, showcasing her unwavering determination.
