— Taran Nolan

Taran Nolan's life took a drastic turn on September 10, 2020, when she suffered a C3-C5 incomplete tetraplegia, rendering her quadriplegic. Despite the challenges posed by her condition, Taran remains determined to regain mobility and independence. Describing her current state, Taran explains, "I am quadriplegic. I can move my arms some now. I cannot walk unaided. One arm does not straighten, and my fingers do not straighten. I have a lot of pain, body spasms from my spinal cord injury."

The support provided by the Be Perfect Foundation has been instrumental in Taran's rehabilitation journey. "Be Perfect has awarded me a $2500 scholarship, and that is going to pay for me to continue with another month of physical therapy with 2 neuro trainers, Joshua Salic and Jason Wanstreet," Taran shares gratefully. Through their guidance and expertise, Taran has made significant progress. "If it wasn't for them, I would still be in bed, unable to move at all. But they are helping me progress toward walking in a walker," she adds optimistically.

Reflecting on the financial assistance from Be Perfect, Taran expresses profound gratitude, stating, "I was just thinking today how I didn't know how I was going to pay for PT...this is a Godsend. Renews my faith in humanity that there are people like you." The scholarship not only eases the financial burden but also serves as a source of hope and encouragement for Taran.

Despite the challenges she faces, Taran has set ambitious goals for herself. "I can stand for more than 20 seconds with a little help. I can do 20 squats with a bar to hold onto. I can use my pole to get out of bed and into my chair, so long as someone is with me. I can take a few steps on a walker," she shares proudly. Taran's determination to progress further is evident as she expresses her desire to continue with physical therapy to potentially reverse her colostomy bag.

In closing, Taran extends heartfelt thanks to the donors of Be Perfect, recognizing the life-changing impact of their support. "Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is literally life-changing!" she expresses with deep appreciation. Through the generosity of others, Taran finds renewed hope and determination to overcome the challenges posed by her spinal cord injury.
