Frank Morelliti

I would like to thank the donors of Be Perfect from the bottom of my heart. I am so grateful there is a facility like TPS to help people. My insurance told me to go home and just live, but really I still need help in regaining my strength in my right leg and arm. For that I say thank you.

My name is Frank Mortelliti and I suffered a stroke on June 8, 2016, which affected the left side of my brain, ultimately affecting the right side of my body. I sustained a stroke, after I came home from work and after I had dinner I went to open the mail and I had a stroke in front of my family. Immediately the EMS was called and I was transported to Kaiser hospital where I was given TPA within 3 hours.

Be Perfect has been a God sent. They have given me the means to attend therapy at The Perfect Step where they are working on my leg and arm and it gets me out of the house and working with people and socializing, which I enjoy. I am walking with a 4 prong cane, a bit faster, but when I go out to places I use my wheelchair. I am able to stand at the sink and brush my teeth, I walk upstairs with someone there, get to the restroom and do most of my bathroom hygiene. I am still working on totally dressing myself and getting out of bed on my own. Additionally, I hope to regain my stamina in the future because I will never sit still. My nickname was the "energizer bunny" especially at my job; that never stopped.

I am a social person that needs the social interaction. Prior to my accident I gave many presentations for my job at JPL/NASA here in California and at other NASA facilities thru out the USA.

My goals are to walk, use my arm and talk again. I want to return to work at JPL. I miss it and I am bored at home.

I would like to thank the donors of Be Perfect from the bottom of my heart. I am so grateful there is a facility like TPS to help people. I need this to keep me positive and optimistic, which I am. I have always seen the glass half full. The people here care and show it every time.

My insurance told me to go home and just live, but really, I still need help in regaining my strength in my right leg and arm. For that I say thank you.
