Jonathon Plaszcz
Jonathon Plaszcz, who sustained a C4/5 spinal cord injury on August 7, 2016, shares his profound gratitude for the life-changing support he has received from the Be Perfect Foundation. His injury occurred during a challenging situation in Florida when he was on his moped, attempting to return home from a concert amidst a tropical storm. The slippery roads caused his moped to skid, leading to a head-on collision with a light pole.
Be Perfect Foundation's assistance has been instrumental in Jonathon's journey towards regaining an independent and active lifestyle. Due to his limited mobility and the constraints of using a wheelchair, he faced challenges in accessing exercise facilities, resulting in weight gain that significantly impacted his mental health and confidence. However, the financial support provided by Be Perfect has opened doors to exercise facilities, offering Jonathon the opportunity to shed the excess weight, thereby improving his mental well-being and enhancing his overall quality of life.
Despite the challenges posed by his disability, Jonathon's determination has led to remarkable achievements. He has actively pursued various adaptive sports, including skiing, sled hockey, scuba diving, and even surfing. These accomplishments speak to his resilience and unwavering spirit.
Looking ahead, Jonathon has set ambitious goals for himself, and Be Perfect plays a crucial role in helping him achieve them. His aspirations include losing weight, adopting a healthier lifestyle, and strengthening his core to participate in a driving program, thus regaining some of his independence.
In expressing his gratitude to the donors of Be Perfect Foundation, Jonathon emphasizes how their decision to accept his application has had a profound impact on his life. Their support has allowed him to live the life he desires, rather than one dictated by disability. Jonathon's heartfelt "thank you" doesn't begin to convey the depth of his appreciation for the opportunities and hope that Be Perfect has brought into his life.
