Luke Sharp
Luke Sharp's life changed dramatically on April 11, 2015, when he was involved in a head-on collision while riding his dirt bike in the desert, resulting in a C3-C4 incomplete spinal cord injury. Recalling the incident, Luke recounts, "I was riding my dirt bike in the desert, and I was involved in a head-on collision with a dune buggy."
The Be Perfect Foundation has been a source of support for Luke, providing him with a grant to help pay for exercise-based therapy. "The Be Perfect Foundation has awarded me with a grant to help pay for exercise-based therapy. This therapy will help me maintain my health and also get stronger," Luke shares gratefully. The financial assistance from Be Perfect has alleviated the burden of paying for therapy, allowing Luke to focus on his rehabilitation with a more positive outlook.
Setting goals has been an integral part of Luke's journey towards recovery. "I can say that I had set a goal to be able to gait train for a longer duration without having to take a break," he notes. Looking ahead, Luke envisions achieving further milestones in his rehabilitation. "Some future goals that I would love to attain would be to gain more upper mobility function, or I could brush my teeth on my own and do more daily activities," he shares.
In a message to the donors of Be Perfect, Luke expresses his heartfelt gratitude for their generosity. "Hello donors, I am writing this with my heartfelt gratitude. Your donations have helped me pay for exercise-based therapy, which reinstilled hope and optimism back into my life," he expresses. The support from donors has not only eased Luke's financial burden but has also played a significant role in restoring his hope for the future.
