In December 2022, Douglas faced a life-altering experience when he endured severe back pain that ultimately led to a series of surgeries and daunting challenges. Here is his story:
In December 2022, Douglas found himself in excruciating pain, and after seeking medical attention, he was initially prescribed painkillers for what seemed like a temporary issue. However, his pain persisted, prompting him to return to the hospital. A series of tests revealed the presence of MSSA bacteria affecting his heart valve, as well as severe lumbar and thoracic issues. Douglas underwent two surgeries in quick succession, along with the implantation of a pacemaker to address his heart condition.
Amidst these trials and uncertainties, Douglas was fortunate to come across the Be Perfect Foundation. This organization has been an immense blessing in his life. After his insurance stopped covering his therapies, Be Perfect extended a scholarship for physical therapy at their facility. It was a turning point for him. The support and care he received at Be Perfect have been invaluable, both physically and mentally. Douglas affectionately refers to Be Perfect as 'God's Garden,' a place where he believes he will regain his ability to walk.
Be Perfect has not only provided Douglas with the means for physical rehabilitation but has also reinstilled hope in his life. The foundation's unwavering support, coupled with their commitment to excellence, has motivated him to strive for his best, no matter the challenges he faces. It has become his personal mantra and mindset, reminding him that he can overcome any obstacle and work towards his goals of walking again and regaining his normal life activities.

Douglas's primary objective is to regain mobility in his lower extremities, and he firmly believes that Be Perfect can play a pivotal role in helping him achieve this.
