I would like to take the time to thank all donors for their generous donations. Due to their donations, people like myself are able to obtain physical rehabilitation, which is very important in our lifestyles in order to keep healthy and obtain consistent improvements in our lives.
— Jeffrey Balencia

Jeffrey Balencia's life took an unexpected turn on July 4, 2017, during a day at Laguna Beach. While enjoying the ocean, Jeffrey dove under a wave and struck a hidden sandbar beneath the water. The impact instantly broke his C5 vertebrae, leaving him paralyzed. Despite this life-altering injury, Jeffrey’s resilience and determination have driven him to rebuild his life and achieve extraordinary milestones.

With the support of the Be Perfect Foundation, Jeffrey has been able to participate in therapy sessions at The Perfect Step. These sessions have played a vital role in helping him maintain his physical health, regain mobility, and establish a consistent physical activity routine. Jeffrey shared, "Be Perfect has re-installed hope and motivation in my life. Their team truly understands what individuals with spinal cord injuries need and is always open to learning and growing alongside us. That encouragement has been vital to my recovery."

Thanks to his sound physical health and the foundation’s support, Jeffrey was able to return to school and graduate from Cal State San Bernardino with a bachelor's degree in social work. Today, he continues to excel academically as he pursues his master’s degree in social work at Cal State San Bernardino.

Jeffrey remains focused on his future goals, which include improving his physical mobility, developing a consistent therapy schedule, and eventually achieving full independence in transferring himself. He expressed deep gratitude to the donors who make Be Perfect’s work possible: "I want to thank all donors for their generous contributions. Your support allows people like me to access the critical rehabilitation we need to stay healthy and achieve consistent improvements in our lives."
