Following a life-altering motor vehicle accident in 2016, Rogelio Santibañez sustained a complete spinal cord injury at the C5 level. Compounded by neurogenic bowel and bladder, a colostomy, neuropathic pain, spasticity, and other serious medical complications, Rogelio’s road to recovery has required not only exceptional care but also unwavering support.
Thanks to the Be Perfect Foundation, Rogelio has been able to access consistent therapy sessions at The Perfect Step—specialized care focused on neurological recovery. These sessions have not only improved his physical health but also brought back a sense of purpose and confidence in his journey.

Through weight-bearing therapy, a hallmark of The Perfect Step’s approach, Rogelio was able to reverse osteopenia and avoid a diagnosis of osteoporosis. That breakthrough gave him new motivation to push forward. He has since completed his bachelor’s degree and is now actively engaged in adaptive sports—goals that would not have been possible without the therapy and financial support provided by Be Perfect.
Looking ahead, Rogelio is focused on maintaining a consistent therapy routine that keeps his body strong, his blood pressure stable, and his spirit moving forward. He knows the importance of staying active and connected to the community at The Perfect Step, which he lovingly describes as “home and family” for anyone living with a spinal cord injury.
