Zachary Lowe

Zachary Brian Lowe is a 33-year-old T4 paraplegic whose life changed dramatically following a motor vehicle accident on November 30, 2016. After sustaining a spinal cord injury, Zachary spent time in a medically induced coma at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He credits the medical team there with helping save his life and providing him the opportunity to continue his recovery journey.

Since his injury, Zachary has faced significant physical, emotional, and mental challenges. Despite the obstacles, he has remained determined to move forward and continue fighting for his health, independence, and future. Through perseverance and resilience, he has worked to rebuild his life while navigating the complexities of living with paralysis.

The support provided through the Be Perfect Foundation is helping Zachary continue his rehabilitation at React Sports Medicine in Addison, Texas. The opportunity to participate in ongoing therapy allows him to work toward meaningful recovery goals while receiving one-on-one support from dedicated trainers who continually encourage him to push beyond perceived limitations.

Like many individuals living with paralysis, Zachary's journey has not always been linear. In the years following his injury, inconsistency in therapy and uncertainty about his future created periods of doubt and frustration. However, with the support of close friends who never lost faith in him and the encouragement of the paralysis community, he has found renewed purpose and motivation.

"Every time I enter that gym, I am giving myself an opportunity to walk again. Every second counts."

Today, Zachary is focused on establishing healthy habits, improving his overall wellness, and setting achievable goals that will help him continue progressing. Being surrounded by others who share similar experiences has strengthened his resolve and inspired him to become a positive example within the disability community.

As he looks ahead, Zachary remains committed to his rehabilitation journey and hopes to demonstrate to others living with paralysis that perseverance, community, and opportunity can create a path toward greater independence, hope, and possibility. The support of organizations like the Be Perfect Foundation plays a critical role in helping individuals like Zachary continue pursuing their goals and maximizing their quality of life.
