Terry Webb
My name is Terry Webb. I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia (throughout my entire spine) in 2009.
Shortly after my first brain surgery in 2010, I continued to become weak and multiple diagnoses of other multiple illnesses would follow. In total, since March of 2010, I have received 22 brain and spinal cord surgeries. Because of so many surgeries, and many complications, each time I would become weaker and more unstable. The ultimate injury to my spinal cord happened during a surgery on October 3, 2017 which caused paralysis in my legs after removing arachnoid cysts.
The Be Perfect Foundation has blessed me with a Scholarship to start my journey with The Perfect Step, and because of Be Perfect I was gifted a new wheelchair that fits me wonderfully. I can get around much easier and I’ve gained back some of my independence that I thought I might never get back.
Be Perfect has given me the reassurance that there are no limits to what I can do. I can reach my goals no matter what comes my way and Be Perfect has given me that hope that anything is possible.
My goals are to be independent so that I can live on my own. My ultimate goal is to walk again! I have been working on my transfers more, and little by little I am gaining the ability to do that more on my own.
I would like if Be Perfect could help me attain the ability to be physically and mentally fit so that I can drive one day, using an adaptive device in order to have my independence, as well as getting my posture better to prepare me for the ultimate goal of walking!
Thank you Be Perfect donors! It means so much to me that, because of you, I have hope once again instilled into my heart, and that I might get the ability to walk once again. Being able to go to The Perfect Step gives me hope and determination. With the help of the staff at The Perfect Step, I am reminded physically and mentally, that I am limitless!
